Luwero Cycling Club,Masaka Cycling Club and Tropical Head Cycling Club have confirmed participation in the above race scheduled to take place on 24th .February 2018 on Mityana road 10 days before the race.

Registration is still in progress at the federation offices found at equatorial shopping mall room 112 for only 10,000/= for licensed riders .

Further more, the organizing committee has today pronounced its self about prizes being 150 US Dollars in addition of a trophy and a golden medal for the winner,100 US Dollars in addition of a silver medal for the first runners up and 50 US Dollars in addition of a bronze medal for the 2nd  runners up.

While starting 2018 racing calendar we can not forget to high lite the biggest cycling memories of 2017.

The 2017  Uganda Cycling Federation  National Championship is still on the hearts of the Ugandans due to its uniqueness in organisation.

It was hosted in Masaka Municipality by Masaka Cycling Association on 25th.June 2017 as UCI rules states. The event attracted riders from Eritrea and Kenya who included Kenya safari Com Cycling Club commonly known as team Kenyan riders.

It was won by a Ugandan Kenyan based Kajimu Charles who climaxed a 160km circuit race in just 4hr:50:48 followed by Geofrey Longat from Kenya Safari Com Cycling Club who arrived 3 seconds later while Aloxius Ssekajugo from Super Cycling Club a Ugandan club completing the podium slots arriving 1 minute and 11 seconds later.

These won cash and other prises from TECHNO MOBILE,DSTV and BANDA BUSUJJU GROOVES BAR AND RESTAURANT  who were the sponsors of the race.

This year's UCF National Championship will be bigger and better scheduled for 24th.June.2017 following UCI calendar

Uganda cycling federation took up the idea of producing Bicycle frames out of Bamboo under the label " BACLO BIKE". Bamboo bicycles are on demand at the world market and UCF is leaving no room for missing such an opportunity.

Production is currently going on at the UCF technical center in  Kalaji - Kayunga Road employing senior riders who include David Matovu.

UCF started this initiative with an idea of laying a promising future of riders by giving them  the  first priority while choosing who should join the production work.

Uganda Cycling Federation is opening 2018 racing year with a  do or die event " WELCOME 2018 RACE"  a 40 km event that will run on the 24th. Feb.2018 running on Mityana Road starting 9:00am. Registration is in progress at the federation offices found at equatorial shopping mall room 112 for only 10,000/= for licensed riders .

The provision for guest riders will be created depending on the number of interested guest riders.

Locally made Bamboo bicycles are expected to feature in the event.
